New Grade for Turning Stainless Steel at High Speeds

September 10, 2004

HOUSTON - American National Carbide (ANC) introduces its latest improvement in the area of high-speed stainless steel turning with its new grade AN2025.

AN2025 has a tough, cobalt-enriched substrate and a multi-layered ceramic CVD coating to enhance edge strength. This is ANC's new preferred grade for high-speed turning of stainless steels and complements grade AN2020 as the recommended grade for medium speeds and feeds in stainless steels. AN2025 is available in a variety of chip-control geometries and performs well in roughing to semi-finishing applications.
