Updated Line of Inserts for Small Hole Boring Features New Grades

August 20, 2004

HOUSTON - American National Carbide (ANC) has updated its line of products for small hole boring, which features new and improved grades and precision ground inserts for boring holes down to .180" in diameter.

ANC's inserts for small hole boring are interchangeable with most major brands of inserts, including Circle®, and are offered in a selection of uncoated and coated grades for machining in all six of the ISO application areas. AN4105 and AN4010 are ANC's newest grades specifically designed for small hole boring. AN4105 features a micro-grain, alloyed substrate with a PVD coating of titanium nitride for enhanced lubricity and is best-suited for medium machining on a wide variety of carbon and alloy steels. AN4010 has a multi-layered ceramic CVD coating over a hard, alloyed substrate allowing it to run at much faster speeds than traditional coated grades.
