HOUSTON - American National Carbide (ANC) introduces its fully
updated and improved line of inserts for turning, boring, and cut-off
/ parting applications. The new offering showcases three new series
of turning inserts, the American Performance, American Standard,
and American Value lines, as well as expanded offerings of
inserts for small hole boring, heavy turning, brake drum and rotor
turning, and cut-off / parting.
The American
Performance series features negative rake turning inserts
with state-of-the-art chip control geometries and grade design for
use on modern CNC machines. "Performance, productivity, and
precision are three of the benefits of using these inserts,"
says Adrian Waple, Vice President of Operations. "Operators
of modern CNC equipment place high demands on inserts, and we have
designed these inserts to meet these requirements." Available
in three universal multi-layer coated grades and four application-specific
chip-control geometries, the American Performance series excels
in the modern metalworking arena.
The American Standard
series offers a very wide array of positive and negative rake inserts
in geometries and grades for applications from heavy roughing to
fine finishing. "We have completely reorganized our grade system
for the American Standard line with new and improved grades
designed for each particular application," says D. Greg Stroud,
President. "This, coupled with a selection of application-specific
chip-control geometries, is something we had lacked in the past,
but the new program allows us to compete on equal footing with our
large competitors." New chip-control geometries include ones
developed for machining aluminum, cast iron, and stainless steels.
The American Value
series is tailored to those in the metalworking community who seek
inserts that perform well but are priced at reasonable levels. The
line is comprised of a targeted offering of the most popular styles
and sizes of turning inserts in proven grades for guaranteed performance.
"We felt there was a large portion of the industry whose needs
were not being met by the big guys," says Stroud, "so
we developed the American Value line to provide high-quality,
reliable inserts that smaller machine shops can afford."
Inserts for heavy turning applications, such as railroad turning
and bar peeling, have also been updated and improved - as have inserts
for cut-off / parting, small hole boring and brake drum and rotor
turning.
A new catalog has also been developed that includes all of the
above-mentioned products as well as detailed grade and application
information for each product line. To view or request a copy of
